We fully appreciate that many of our adult patients have high profile corporate positions and have a natural reluctance to have visible braces on their teeth; we therefore routinely provide the three most discreet types of adult braces available.

The most subtle is known as a lingual appliance, which fits on the inside/ lingual (i.e. tongue) aspect of your teeth, this is totally invisible to your colleagues, however there are some effects on speech and it may take a few days to allow your tongue adequate time to adapt.

Because of the extra external lab fee involved with lingual braces, some adults may prefer to have the less expensive totally ceramic style of fixed braces which are fully see-through and together with tooth coloured wire, will greatly minimise the visibility factor of your brace.

The removable clear aligners are made of plastic and providing your bite is suitable for this type of treatment, these braces allow you maximum flexibility as you can remove the brace whenever your work situation demands. Many patients who are in the acting profession, the media and entertainment industry and those who regularly provide presentations as part of their executive roles love the flexibility that these braces afford.
